About the BursaryThis bursary is in honour of our friend, long-time TESL teacher and TESL Hamilton-Wentworth executive member, Marie Robbins. Everyone who knew Marie experienced what a kind and loving person she was. Her selfless attitude was evident in the many volunteer roles she held in her community. We offer this bursary as a tribute to her contributions to the TESL community.
Marie was passionate about sharing her love of teaching newcomers with others and wanted others to have access to resources and knowledge. For this reason, these bursaries will focus on professional development. The bursary is open for application once a year and is awarded to one TESL Ontario certified teacher practising in Ontario and one current TESL student in Ontario. There are 2 bursaries available: 1. Award: Up to $100 in teaching resources, to be reimbursed after purchase

Application Deadline: Friday, June 6, 2025
Eligibility Criteria:
- All applicants who have not received a bursary from TESL Hamilton-Wentworth in the past two years and apply by the stated deadline will be considered
- Must be a current TESL student in Ontario
Please Note:
- TESL Hamilton-Wentworth will award the recipient of this bursary up to $100 in teaching resources. Any amount over $100 is the responsibility of the applicant
- Please submit your application by Friday, June 6, 2025. Late submissions will not be considered
- The recipient of this bursary will be contacted on Friday, June 13, 2025
- The names of all bursary winners will be posted on the TESL Hamilton-Wentworth website and shared via social media. Applicants applying for the bursary are automatically granting permission for TESL Hamilton-Wentworth to publish their names online
